Newly opened in 2023, "Busan MoCA Collection" is a space that houses Busan MoCA’s permanent collections, aiming to cultivate the museum’s associated programs and activities such as vitalizing the research focus, collection procurement and archiving, and developing exhibitions and educational programs through rigorous studies on items in the permanent collection. The results are to be reflected in the collection procurement and management policies and the museum’s identity building initiative. The first pieces to be shown in 2024 are Marc Lee’s Used To Be My Home Too and STUDIO1750’s LMO 3116. Marc Lee realizes the impact of ‘biological species’’ homogenization on our lives and the environment through real-time data visualization, while STUDIO1750 transforms genetically modified life forms into kinetic installations.
