The City of Dubai is hosting the 31st edition of The International Symposium on Electronic/Emerging Art (ISEA2026), under the theme of ELYAH: Constellating Place, Data & Identity.
Named after the North Star, the curatorial framework of ELYAH positions Dubai as a global nexus where electronic media art serves as a transdisciplinary laboratory. Under this banner, the symposium explores how light, code, sound, and technology reshape our spatial awareness, human interaction, and cultural footprints through four core sub-themes:
Charting Constellations: Investigates digital geographies, indigeneity, mapping, and locality, examining how data forms new understandings of place and digital identity.
Celestial Dialogues: Focuses on intercultural dialogue, traditional craft, and digitally mediated storytelling to build bridges between ancient heritage and future technologies.
Eco-Tech Futures: Critically addresses environmental responsibility, sustainable tech engagement, and the ecological footprints of emergent systems like AI.
Starlinked Worlds: Delves into speculative posthumanism, virtual or extraterrestrial spaces, and cosmic-scale systems that redefine the human condition within the universe
